Your Covid-19 questions answered
(last updated on December 10, 2021)
Langley Castle has led from the front when it comes to instituting Covid-19 health and safety measures and reassuring guests about the castle’s commitment to keeping them safe.
Our messaging was so on-point that the Government picked it up and used it within its official Staycation tourism campaign in July 2020!
Since then, relaxation has occurred, in terms of the regulations. However, we recognise that the situation is very fluid, so this is our latest guidance.
•The Government reserve the option of reinstating measures such as face mask wearing and social distancing. Rest-assured that, if this should happen, Langley Castle is well-practised at keeping guests safe and ensuring that such measures are used.
•We do not wish to have any guests feel uncomfortable about continuing to wear face masks in all areas of the Castle, so please feel free to wear your mask, if you wish to do so.
•Our public areas offer a lot of natural social distancing, so you should be able to relax and not worry about other people being too close to you. If you do wish to move further away from others, and it is possible to do so, please just ask a member of staff to assist you.
•Our thorough cleaning and disinfecting of rooms and communal areas remains as it was at the height of the pandemic. Our aim is to minimise any risk to our guests and this will continue to be our guiding principle.
•We have plenty of hand sanitizer available for your continued use, even though regulations have been relaxed. Please feel free to use it. Should you notice that any stations are empty, please alert a member of staff, who will attend to the matter straight away.
•Our rooms are positioned in such a way as to not involve a lot of contact between guests on floors or staircases. This is regardless of whether you are staying inside the castle itself or in our Castle View accommodation. Should you encounter any other guests, please just let them pass you and proceed along your way.
•We have extensive grounds to explore, at your leisure – 10 acres of grounds, in fact, whether you choose to stroll on our lawns or take yourself off for a woodland walk. Please make use of this wide open space during your stay.
•Should you have any concerns about your Covid-19 safety during your visit with us, we are here to help you and ease your anxiety. Please just talk to one of our staff, or head to reception, and we shall do all we can to put your mind at rest.
•If you have a wedding booked at Langley Castle and wonder what any latest Covid-19 announcements or regulations changes mean for you, please just give us a call. We stay abreast of every development and can always assist you with your queries. If we do face major restrictions again, we can work with you, to come to the best possible solution for you, just as we did throughout lockdowns 1 and 2, when we rearranged or rescheduled weddings for many different couples.
•We very much hope that we will see no further lockdowns but, should that occur, we always aim to keep in touch with guests, by whatever means possible. Please subscribe to our newsletter (which you can do on our website’s home page), keep reading our news pages and, if you have little ones or older children, why not get more involved with us through our Tales of Langley Bear podcast or by downloading our ‘Hairy History’ guide (online at our website).
