For the First Time in 663 years Langley Castle opens up its Battlements for Guided Tours
Langley Castle Hotel is, for the first time in 663 years, opening up its battlements to the public for guided tours, which include the garderobe tower (finest collection of medieval latrines), the restored rooftop Chapel, built in the memory of Cadwallader Bates,and stunning views of Hadrian’s Wall and the surrounding countryside from the rooftop battlements.
Learn the history and enjoy the architecture during the tour and relish in the 360 degreeviews from the castle battlements.
Build in 1350 by Sir Thomas de Lucy, Langley Castle retains its historic charm and architecture but provides all the comforts of the 21st century. The castle’s seven foot thickwalls guarantee a tranquil refuge and a perfect escape to the country. It’s your very personal getaway.
Tours of the battlements are available daily at 10.15am. Adults are admitted at a charge of £4.95, there is no charge for children. Booking is necessary and subject to availability. Please allow 30 minutes for the tour and enjoy some time at your leisure in the castle and grounds.
